*Sigh* It’s truly a sad day in hip-hop. As MTV News is reporting, Pimp C– one half of the legendary Port Arthur, Texas-based group rap UGK–was found dead in the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles earlier this morning. A rep from Jive Records, UGK’s record label, confirmed the news.
I’ve had my own personal spats with Pimp in the past (he actually dissed me on Kay Slay’s Hot97 radio show after I gave his last solo album, The Pimpalation, a negative review), but I’ve always been a big fan of the man. His presence will be sorely missed.
Pour out a little liquor, I mean sizzurp….
Here’s a lasting image

I agree with Jmack. Mad peeps were hating on him for a long time. Now ,we got all these stans saying they were down. I will admit that I was never a big UGK fan but i was aware of his impact in his region. And there lies the deserved props. It is a loss for hip-hop and i pay my respect to his family. god bless.
iknowtheledge - you already know!

Pimp C was and still is the truth. I’m from the south and saw how UGK open the doors for many of our rappers today. Pimp C will be miss, but his name will stay forever ringing in the streets. RIP Pimp C-one love and keep you head up Bun and continue to rep your boy.
