TMZ is reporting that the L.A. County Superior judge presiding over The Game’s upcoming trial on weapons charges will soon be making a decision regarding $44,000 that the rapper claims the LAPD confiscated from his Glendale home during the investigation. In June of 2007, Game received three felony charges after he allegedly punched a man and pointed a gun at him during a game of pick-up basketball at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in February of that same year. He was also charged with making criminal threats and possessing a firearm in a school zone. He’s plead not guilty to all the charges and faces more than five years in prison if convicted.
His trial date was set today for February 4th, but the judge presiding over the case will make a ruling about the LAPD’s role in the missing 44k on January 22nd. Game’s lawyer wants the LAPD held in contempt for refusing to return the money.
It’s not like the LAPD have a great reputation, so this should be a no-brainer.
