Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were just too much for Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan. The two aging actors, who play dying men who go on a global adventure before they head to their graves in The Bucket List, squeaked out a victory over First Sunday, which took in $19 million to The Bucket List’s $19.5 million.

Still, those are hefty numbers for O’Shea Jackson. Entertainment Weekly says, “The heist comedy further solidified Ice Cube’s position as one of the most dependably bankable stars around, earning the third-best opening gross of his career (it fell just short of the bows of the two Barbershop movies, which brought in $20.6 mil and then $24.2 mil on their respective initial weekends).”

Not bad for the rapper turnt actor. I guess he just couldn’t hang with Uncle Jack, whose legendary career’s been on the upswing since playing Frank Costello in The Departed.
