Two of hip-hop’s giants, Jay-Z and Nas, are rumored to be collaborating on a “Best of Both Worlds” duet album. The New York Daily News‘ Rush and Molloy gossip columnists write,

“Rumors continue to swirl about Jay-Z’s still-unconfirmed new record label, Carter Music Group. We hear that Jay is partnering with rapper Nas on an album of duets, “The Kings of Hip Hop,” to be released on the label early next year. Jay’s rep is keeping tight-lipped.”

This could be a good move for old man rap hip-hop’s elder statesmen, if it actually happens, which I doubt it will. I’ll file this one along with the rumored Jay-Z/Mary J collabo project. Now Mary J. Blige, Nas, and Jay-Z on the same album, like a millennium version of The Firm, that’d be something monumental- *cues up R. Kelly’s “I Wish” video*
