Remy Ma was found guilty today on four major charges- two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The charges are from the 2007 incident where Remy shot her friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, during a fight they were having about money missing from Remy’s purse.
Remy was actually facing nine charges in all, and she was found not guilty of witness tampering and gang assault.
The charges stem from a 2007 incident in which Remy shot a friend of hers after a fight over $3,000 in cash stolen from Remy’s purse. The defense tried to make the shooting an accident — but it looks like they didn’t quite convince the jury.
Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering, among the nine total charges she faced.
According to the AP, Remy “wailed loudly and sobbed openly after she was outside of the courtroom. Many of her supporters also cried.” She was led out of the Manhattan courtroom in handcuffs.

I was in the courtroom thru the entire trial. Remy was perfectly composed the entire time, looked very classy. Her lawyer on the other hand was an idiot. When she appeals, I pray she does it without him. The jury sympathized with her, but based on the evidence, (that was undisputed by her defense lawyer) they had no other choice but to convict. They were as fair as they could have possibly been. Remy, be strong.
