Jimmy Henchmen Wants LA Times Writer Chuck Philips Fired!

Boy, Jimmy is still peeved as hell that he was included in Chuck Philips fake LA Times Tupac story. He told Sway,

“I lived with the rumor of what happened to Tupac for the last 14 years. And rumors are rumors — either you believe them or you don’t — but when you have a reputable newspaper like the Los Angeles Times with a Pulitzer Prize winner like Chuck Philips to validate a rumor, then it becomes real. It becomes real in your life, real to the people around you. When you Google me, this affects me regardless, forever. I could always rebut a rumor, but this is something that’s well more damaging. And I think Chuck Philips had no regards to my reputation, for myself as a businessman, myself as a father, a family man, somebody’s son. And I think he did irreparable damage to my career, my reputation and everything else. I don’t think there is no other reward for me or my family that he can do. An apology isn’t going to do it. There has to be some form of reprimand in the sense of his job. He needs to lose his job.”

Verdict Handed Down In Remy Ma Case- Guilty!

Remy Ma was found guilty today on four major charges- two counts of first-degree assault, attempted coercion, and criminal possession of a weapon.

The charges are from the 2007 incident where Remy shot her friend, Makeda Barnes-Joseph, during a fight they were having about money missing from Remy’s purse.

Remy was actually facing nine charges in all, and she was found not guilty of witness tampering and gang assault.

The charges stem from a 2007 incident in which Remy shot a friend of hers after a fight over $3,000 in cash stolen from Remy’s purse. The defense tried to make the shooting an accident — but it looks like they didn’t quite convince the jury.

Remy was not found guilty of gang assault and witness tampering, among the nine total charges she faced.

According to the AP, Remy “wailed loudly and sobbed openly after she was outside of the courtroom. Many of her supporters also cried.” She was led out of the Manhattan courtroom in handcuffs.

TI To Plead Guilty To Weapons Charges, Gets Jail and Community Service

Atlantic Records can breath a sigh of relief. Their biggest star, TI, is headed to court today, and according to the Associated Press he will plead guilty to weapons charges and be sentenced to 12 months in jail and 1,500 hours of community service talking to youth groups around the country. The plea deal should be finalized by the end of the day.

Basically, TIP will get time served on house arrest, do a few months (if that) in jail, and work out a way where he can speak to community groups while he tours. So all in all, he’s good. Now all you blogger clowns who were putting the nail in his coffin can go back to chirping about something else aside from his pending demise. Cause it’s not gonna happen. He’s good.

The LA Times Apologizes For Being Duped By Con-Artist In 1994 Tupac Shooting Article

Last week a bombshell was dropped on the hip-hop world when an article by Chuck Philips appeared in the LA Times citing an unidentified FBI informant who claimed that a mafia-connected figure named James Sabatino and Jimmy Henchman set up Tupac in 1994 to curry favor with Diddy’s then growing Bad Boy Records empire. Diddy and Jimmy Henchman vehemently denied those claims and demanded a retraction from the LA Times. And it looks like they’ve gotten it, by default. Yesterday, The Smoking Gun published a report about James Sabatino, indicating that he’s a reputed con-man, and the supposed FBI documents relied on for the Times article were forged. Today, the LA Times has admitted their guilt and issued an apology. Chuck Philips said in a statement Wednesday,

“In relying on documents that I now believe were fake, I failed to do my job. I’m sorry.”

Deputy Managing Editor Marc Duvoisin said: “We should not have let ourselves be fooled. That we were is as much my fault as Chuck’s. I deeply regret that we let our readers down.”

Times Editor Russ Stanton said an internal review of the forged FBI documents and the reporting of the story would be launched.

Stanton said: “We published this story with the sincere belief that the documents were genuine, but our good intentions are beside the point. The bottom line is that the documents we relied on should not have been used. We apologize both to our readers and to those referenced in the documents and, as a result, in the story. We are continuing to investigate this matter and will fulfill our journalistic responsibility for critical self-examination.”
