I love the episodes of YO MTV Raps that have been running!! This reminds me of the grassroots that made hip hop so great. Speaking of getting hip hop back to the basics… Does anyone know about this new unveiling going on over at The Source Magazine? I know they are celebrating 20 years in business and they are under totally different management.

“It’s You (I Think)” is another solid performance from Substantial!!!! Video is nostalgic, reminds me of a time when hip-hop was more reflective of the everyday people and that is much needed.

Growing up all I has was SHIT
So I scrambled the letters around and made HITS
    This is my passion
If Your a product of recycled garbage
Then it’s only right you sold plastic
    You dumb bastard
    I mastered a flow
    That incorporates laughter
    Running you out of business
    Like lime-wire did to Napster
    Giving you the Business
Like Russel did to Jay after Run became a Paster
    So Trademark L.L.C. my 16’s
    It’s a sick seen
    When I spit mean
    With a spik lean
    I mean
I rain to keep the beats hydrated
    I made it
    Wile being underestimated
Like a lied on my w9
    I re-define
    Self promotional mastermind
    With h.t.m.l. designs
See sex sells and that fine
    If you a female dime
But I’m just a average guy
    Who dress fly
    Write rhymes
And use emails to chart clime
So call me a computer thug
    Dogs -Its all love
    But I’m ganna revolutionizes
Hip hop for this modern day and time
    No question
    I’m destine to step in
With no weapon and kill the competition
Like two drug spots on the same block
    And that’s bad for business
    Like playing Russian rullet
With a loaded brisket so why risk it
